Description : Shanghai Astronomical Museum is located at the peak of Sheshan Mountain in Songjiang District (free tickets to the Sheshan Mountain Park). Its predecessor is Sheshan Observatory founded by the French Catholic missionaries in 1900. The museum displays the astronomical telescopes and the development of astronomical science in China, as well as a variety of astronomical science equipment. Among them, the most famous one is a century-old 40 cm binocular refraction telescope.
