Former Residence of Wang Yangming
Wang Yangming (1472-1529), also named Shouren, Bo’an, and pseudonym Yangming, was born in Yuyao, Ningbo. He was the founder of Yangming School. Because of the philosophy of "the Unity of Knowledge and Practice", he is praised as the pioneer of the ideological change in China of the past five hundred years.

Tianyi Pavilion

Ninghai West Gate
"On May 19, 1613, I set out from Ninghai. It's sunny and clouds are dispersed. People's mood and the lake scenery are integrated, all of that make people feel happy." More than 400 years ago, the Chinese tourist sage traveled to Ninghai, Ningbo, and wrote the opening of the Travel Notes of Xu Xiake. Ningbo therefore became the birthplace of "May 19 China Tourism Day".
