\'Somewhere in time\' exhibition showcases more than 100 paintings

2018-12-05

Artist Juan Olivares introduces his painting to a visitor at the Shanghai Gallery.

An ongoing exhibition at the Shanghai Gallery on the Bund is showcasing more than 100 paintings created by 23 Chinese and foreign artists in the theme of “somewhere in time.”

The paintings were created by the artists on invitation from the Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry, a joint institution run by the University of South California and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Organizers said that by bringing Chinese and foreign painters together to create artistic works with the same theme, they hope to provide opportunities for students to communicate with artists more closely and inspire their own creativity.

Another exhibition showing some other works of those artists is also going on at the C. T. Tung Maritime Museum on the campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Xuhui District.

Both exhibitions are free to the public and will run until December 10.
